The experiment was done to decide if glass, plastic, wood, hard foam, soft foam, or rug insulate against sound better. The method used was taking different materials and testing them as barriers against sound of 60Hz, 250 Hz, 1000 Hz, 3300 Hz, 10000 Hz in a medium size box. Results show that acrylic plastic and glass hold out sound most efficiently. Conclusions state that harder substances generally hold out sound best.
